It rained all day

When we were chosen

Mud all the way with frozen peas

But we’ve beaten the injuries

Of sprained knees and cold sores and Mr Sneeze

Here we are like the All Blacks

At the Commonwealth with toe tacks

Bully off, centre pass, blister, Elastoplast

Goal after goal after Gold
